Resources for gaming and writing and general sci-fi/fantasy inspiration and other stuff I think people who like Chaotic Shiny will find useful.
-
Stuffer Shack - A fantastic blog/store/resource list. Tons of great blog posts with content you can drop right into your game,
plus an actual physical store with minis and other gaming aids, plus lots of contests and links and other great things.
Name Pistol - One of the most realistic medieval name generators I've ever seen, plus a hilarious band name gen, and more.
Spirits of Eden - Lots of great homebrew stuff, including some fantastic 4e house rules. Contains not safe for work language and not safe for fanboys rhetoric.
RanGen - A cool generator site just starting out.
The Galaxy Guide - A WEG Star Wars d6 resource site run by a friend of mine. Weapons, NPCs; you name it, it's got it.
The Writer's Square - Another generator site with some pretty cool stuff.
Roleplaying Tips E-zine - Great advice for game masters, most of which also works for writers. I write the articles sometimes, so you know it's awesome.
Campaign Mastery Blog - Expert advice on creating and running excellent campaigns.
RPG Bloggers - If you care enough about your game to generate cool stuff for it, you're probably interested in what's going on in the industry. RPG Bloggers is a network of (just about) every person talking about RPGs on the interwebs ever, so it's hit or miss, but a lot of the hits are awesome enough to make it worth checking out regularly.
Gnome Stew - More people talking about RPGs, plus me arguing about silly things in the comments.
Principle Factor Games - An up-and-coming game company with a mailing list full of plot hooks and a blog.
Swords and Sorcery - An RPG designed by soldiers, for soldiers (and anyone else who wants to play). Created by an Army officer and avid D&D player.
Sea of Stars RPG - A high-magic setting with echos of WWII, full of mysteries and shades of grey.
The Welsh Piper - Campaign tips and tools for busy GMs.
HelpmyRPG - A blog with all sorts of useful ideas and inspiration for running campaigns.
The Dryden Experiment - An open-source sci-fi RPG. If you need some extra worldbuilding material for your sci-fi setting, check it out.
